As part of a live brief with the RAF Museum Midlands, I designed a promotional poster for the 85th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain, contributing to the museum’s upcoming national exhibition The RAF: 1980 to Today.
The brief encouraged creative freedom while respecting the historical subject. Inspired by fashion editorials, particularly Vogue covers, I explored how clean portrait photography and layered typography could tell human centred stories from the Battle of Britain. This approach shifted the focus from aircraft to people, adding emotional depth and relevance for a modern audience. Muted tones, light texture, and subtle grain gave the design a reflective, respectful feel, aligning with the commemorative theme. Minimal, modern type kept the layout clear and harmonious with the photographic style.
This project allowed me to experiment with editorial principles and image treatments, pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling within a real world brief.
