This live brief involved designing the front and back covers for the University of Wolverhampton’s 2026–2027 Undergraduate Guide, aimed at prospective students aged 16–20 across the UK. The design needed to feel bold, fresh, and inclusive, capturing the energy of campus life while reflecting the university’s brand and tagline, “Be Who You Want To Be.”

I began by researching prospectuses from other UK universities to identify trends in layout, typography, and visual messaging. Using the university’s brand guidelines, I explored ways to refresh their colour palette, typefaces, and tone to create something dynamic and appealing to a younger audience. Moodboards helped test styles and image treatments, leading to a concept built around vibrant colour overlays, bold graphic shapes, and layered compositions to suggest movement, excitement, and the student journey.
Photography from the university’s image bank was enhanced with bright, contemporary colour treatments to align with this youthful, energetic style. Abstract shapes and textures were introduced to guide the viewer’s eye and create rhythm across the design. Multiple iterations were refined to ensure strong impact and clarity in print.
The final covers balanced creativity with brand consistency and were well-received by the client for their vibrant use of colour, clear messaging, and sense of movement. Presenting the work in a timed pitch also gave me valuable experience in client communication and real world project delivery.
