For this project, I was tasked with designing a website for Cooper Recruitment, a recruitment agency requiring a clear, user-friendly, and engaging online presence. Given the growing importance of user experience and user interface in the digital space, it was essential that the design was not only visually appealing but also intuitive and responsive across various devices.

As this was my first in depth experience using Figma, I began the project by researching UX/UI best practices and familiarising myself with design processes such as wireframing, prototyping, and user journey mapping. I also explored competitor recruitment websites to understand common structures and content flow, noting what worked and identifying areas where Cooper Recruitment’s design could stand out.
Once I had established a clear structure, I moved into Figma to produce digital wireframes, focusing on layout, readability, and usability. Careful attention was paid to typographic hierarchy, spacing, and balance to make sure text remained legible and information digestible. I also designed simple icon illustrations to complement the content and aid navigation without overwhelming the interface. To prevent the design from appearing too flat, I integrated subtle textures and backgrounds using line drawings and modified illustrations provided by the client. A key design decision was to differentiate the candidate and client sections through contrasting accent colours while maintaining overall consistency in typography and layout, this allowed users to immediately recognise which section of the site they were in without breaking the unified house style. To improve the sense of space and organisation, I separated content blocks with generous white space and clean borders.
During the prototyping phase, I applied transition effects using Figma’s interactive features to introduce subtle motion, such as elements sliding on and off screen, which added polish and improved user engagement without being distracting.
Overall, this project enhanced my skills in digital product design, prototyping, and UX thinking. It reinforced the importance of balancing creativity with user needs and technical feasibility.
I am pleased with the final outcome, which successfully delivers an engaging, accessible, and professional web design solution for Cooper Recruitment, and I am confident this learning experience has strengthened my future readiness for digital design briefs.
